All you need to know about Ranbir Kapoor

The charming Ranbir Kapoor has cinema running through his blood. Speak of Raj Kapoor’s naive optimism, Shammi Kapoor’s joyful abandon, Amitabh Bachchan’s angry young man persona, or Shah Rukh Khan’s east-meets-west act - every generation has had an actor that reflects the aspirations of that era. And there’s probably just one Bollywood actor who can rightfully claim this iconic stature for the present generation - Ranbir Kapoor. The hottest bachelor in town (if we go by what he says about being single) has managed to engage the attention of the cellphone tapping, social network addicted Gen-Y Bollywood audience with his films. Love him? Hate him? This may be helpful either way.

Most Famous Dialogue:
“No Complaints…No Demands.”
“I love you. Girl friend bann jaa meri. Tu aur main rock karr denge!”

Best Films:

Rockstar
From innocent Janaradan to arrogant Jordan, Ranbir got everything right in Rockstar. If there were any doubts that this rock star didn’t have acting in his genes, this movie did well to dispel them.

Barfi
Playing a deaf-mute but young and lively boy isn’t exactly a piece of cake, but the Kapoor lad did it, and he did it well. So well, in fact, that the movie was sent to the Academy Awards as India’s official entry.

Wake Up Sid
In the third film of his career, Ranbir Kapoor proved his mettle in a coming-of-age film. His boy-next-door looks, excellent comic-timing, and the chemistry he shared with the Konkona Sen Sharma – earned him his first Filmfare Best Actor nomination.

Biggest Controversies:

What are leading ladies for? Ranbir Kapoor is one man who’s been linked to almost all the leading ladies he has worked with. From Saawariya co-star Sonam Kapoor to his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri.

On and Off Affair With Kat: We have heard it a million times that RK is more single than the word single itself, than can anyone please justify their couple spotting. The air is really fuzzy around Ranbir Kapoor and his terms with Katrina Kaif.

Fun Facts:
He still takes Rs 1500 as pocket money from his mother every week!
He worked as assistant director on the sets of Prem Granth, Aa Ab Laut Chalen and Black.
